A useful thing to know
Can I start numbering from a custom number?
Yes. Set any positive start number. If you number selected pages, the sequence follows the selected page order and all other pages stay unchanged.

Add consistent numbering to a PDF
Page numbers make multi-page PDFs easier to reference after printing, reviewing or sharing. FileVoxa can place numbering in several header or footer positions, choose a starting number and use different display formats.
The added number is a new visible label on the PDF page. It does not necessarily replace or synchronize with page numbers already printed inside the document. If the source already contains numbering, choose a position that does not overlap it.
A custom starting number is useful when the PDF is part of a larger document. For example, a section can begin at page 21 even though it is the first page of the current file.
Practical checklist
Keep page labels easy to read
- Choose a clear position away from existing text.
- Use a readable font size that fits the margins.
- Set the correct starting number before processing.
- Check portrait and landscape pages because margins can differ.
Common questions
Can numbering start at a number other than 1? Yes. Does it update a table of contents? No. This tool adds numbering and does not automatically erase existing labels. Processing occurs locally.
